September program
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, September 17th, at 7pm. We will meet at the Morgan County Ag Center. Lucy Ray, the extension agent for Morgan County, will be our speaker. We will get to hear about all the planned improvements for the Ag Center.

Meeting Minutes
Date 8/20/2024
The business meeting started at 6:50 pm at the Heritage Park Covered Arena.
Approval of minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
Program
Mark Jones (True Partner Saddlery), a saddle fitter from Canton Georgia, spoke to Club members about what to look for when determining saddle fit. Mark uses a modified version of the Dennis Lane fitting cards. These cards measure the bar angle, the spread, and the amount of rock in a horse’s back. These measurements can be used when shopping for a saddle, and to build a custom saddle.
Treasurer’s report
The Barbara Reilly Cumming Scholarship Savings Account balance: $7355.21
The Kel-Mac Club checking account balance: $8,503.18.
Show Report
Arlene Williams reported that Andre’ Machado has agreed to step in and judge the September 7th Show. The judge scheduled to judge was unable to make that date. Updated show sheets, class descriptions, and rules are available online at kel-mac.com.
Trail Report
A camping trip is scheduled at Watson Mill State Park for September 13-15th. The day ride is scheduled at Fell Hunt Camp in South Carolina, with a ride out time of 10 am.
New Business
Valerie Puryear, our president, announced that the September Meeting will be held at the Morgan County Ag Center. Lucy Ray will update us on the upgrades planned for the Center. The October Meeting will take place at Lowry’s retail store. Our speaker will be Christine Watts. Valerie noted that new T-shirts will be ordered soon.
Dayle Faulkner announced that Your State Parks workday is scheduled for September 28th.
